A.T.A. Konferenz: Was f\u00fcr ein Erlebnis<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a>Einen Monat vorher hatte ich gar keine Idee, was ich erwarten soll. Einen Monat vorher, bin ich nie nach einer Konferenze gegangen. Jetzt sind diese Gedanke vorbei, und ich fuehle mich wir wirklich, dass ich verbessert bin. Ich wusste gar nicht, dass es so einen Platz geben konnte, wo ich andere \u201elanguage geeks\u201c treffen konnte, wo ich mich einfach anpassen wuerde. Ich erinnere mich an mein erstes Seminar mit Robin Bonthrone, \u201eThe Company They Keep: A Guide for German>English Translators.\u201c Als in hereingegangen bin, hatte ich sofort bemerkt, dass ich am j\u00fcngsten der Teilnehmer war. Sofortige Nervosit\u04d3t. Aber danach dachte ich, dass ich \u00fcberlebt habe, und alles ist ganz einfacher geworden.<\/p>\n

Wegen diese personlichen Triump konnte ich \u201eBuddies Welcome Newbies\u201c besuchen, und dadruch Michael Engley, Corinne McKay (Danke f\u00fcr den Tipp mit meiner Visitenkarte!), Domingo Mendo, Jill Sommers und andere tolle Leute kennenlernen. Es freute mich sehr zu sehen, dass es Leute wie ich da war, die auch neu war — Leute die ich jeden Tag sehen konnten. Leute die mit mir abendessen (oder mittagessen) konnten. Ich werde diese Augenblicke besonders nie vergessen (auch weil das Essen mir so sehr geschmeckt hatte). Als wir zusammen gegessen haben, hat jeder dieser Leuten mir wirklich guten Rat gegeben, \u00fcber Sachen die ich nie daran gedacht hatte. Wegen so einer Treffung bin ich nach dem GLD Event gegangen, wo ich noch mehrere interessante Leute treffen, wie Hans-Jochen Trost, Emery Paine (wieder) und Carlie Sitzman (wieder). Als ich drinnen gegangen bin, war ich wieder nervos, aber dann habe ich diese Gesichter gesehen (Jill war auch dabei) — und alles hat klappt. Wir haben Themen wie die S\u00fctterlinsschrift (im September 1941 abgeschafft) und die gotische Fraktur (im Januar 1941 abgeschafft) besprochen. Vielleicht, auf den ersten Blick, sieht so ein Thema voll strang, aber es war faktisch etwas, dass wir gemeinsam gehabt hatten. Jochen hat den Schrift als junger Mann studiert. Ich habe auch solche Schrifte an die Waldorfschule studiert. Emery kennt auch etwas \u00fcber diese altere Schrifte, und Carlie hat einmal so einen Text \u00fcbersetzt. In nur ein Moment, waren vier Leute an einen Tisch gebracht. Wunderbar, und ich hatte das Gl\u00fcck, im Laufe der Konferenz ein paar \u00e4hnliche Momente zu erfahren.<\/p>\n

Leider musste ich frueh heimfliegen, weil ich wieder arbeiten gehen musste. Aber ich weiss schon, dass ich euch in Chicago wiedersehen werde. Bis dann, habadere!<\/p>\n
