It was an enriching and productive experience while busting some myths. The following are my three most significant takeaways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Focus on the most impactful tasks<\/strong> (the 80\/20 rule) rather than trying to do everything. I can learn by asking the right question (the book shows how).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t be a disciplined person.<\/strong> Be a person of powerful habits and use selected discipline to develop them (one at a time).<\/li>\n<li>Balanced Life? <strong>True balance is unrealistic<\/strong>; instead, focus on what&#8217;s most important at any given time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you want to know more, read the book \u2026 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/ata-divisions.org\/GLD\/gld-digital-events\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>or join us for our next GLD Social event<\/strong> on August 23<\/a><\/span>, where we catch up with colleagues and GLD friends while kicking off the socializing by sharing a great book each one read recently. Please find more details about the event and join us by RSVPing <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/subscribepage.io\/GLDsocial-august\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We also decided to continue our monthly Co-Working events, as we received great feedback on this more or less well-attended monthly event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe event is focused yet provides flexibility to choose what specifically needs to be done.\u201d<\/strong> \u2014with working on your business vs. in your business.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIt provides accountability.\u201d<\/strong> \u2014We set a small goal in the beginning, get to work silently for 75 minutes, and then each attendee reports back about the result.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cFinally, I got it done!\u201d<\/strong> \u2014Take the first step or get something done <strong>for your business<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The monthly Co-Working event will be on the <strong>third Thursday of the month at noon EST. The next event is on August 15<\/strong>. Two days before the event, the Zoom link will be posted to the GLD list.
