We have recently transitioned from a quarterly electronic newsletter to the wonderful world of blogging. The PLD Blog Editor is our dear colleague and Leadership Council member Mirna Soares.
We will continue providing a selection of news, articles and columns related to the Portuguese language and our joys and challenges as interpreters, translators, language service company owners and project managers in the U.S., Brazil, Portugal and elsewhere.
Would you like to receive our new posts by email on your RSS feed reader? Just click the icons under “Subscribe” in the right side bar on this page.
We have interesting articles and interviews lined up for publication in the coming weeks, and we’d also love to receive your contributions (ideally 500-700 words) to keep the ball rolling. Drop us a line at ata.pld@gmail.com.
Here are a few ideas everyone can write about: Have you attended a conference or workshop recently? Read a book or article that others may enjoy? Developed a glossary or dictionary? Heard about a great glossary or resource? Learned how to master a new CAT tool? Been on a trip to a Portuguese-speaking country for the first time? Found a blog others might like? Had an unforgettable time at your last assignment? Heard of any type of news concerning the Portuguese language?
We also have an entertaining and valuable Yahoo Group forum, for PLD members only, which I urge you to join. You will learn from colleagues, have fun and hear first-hand info about events in the translation world. Click here to join.
We are all over the social media as well. Please check out our LinkedIn group (for PLD members only), like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
Let’s help ourselves and each other to improve every day and make 2014 a great year for communication among Portuguese linguists worldwide.
