The 54th ATA Annual Conference in charming San Antonio came and went in a flash. Now it’s time to prepare for the 55th in amazing Chicago. Please visit the special website section on the conference at https://www.atanet.org/conf/2014. Registration begins in July, with early-bird rates until October.
Several hundred proposals arrived at ATA headquarters by the March 10th deadline. We know we would all like to attend more sessions than we are able to in all the tracks we love, but we do have fingers crossed to provide a well-rounded selection of Portuguese sessions. Proposals are under review as we speak. The Preliminary Program will be published together with the July issue of The ATA Chronicle.
We also have high hopes for ATA approval of our proposed PLD Distinguished Speaker. We have submitted the name of the one and only Angela Levy, beloved mentor, teacher and the pioneer of simultaneous interpreting in Brazil. Don’t miss her interview at Programa do Jô.
