Tradutores pelo RS is a crowdfunding campaign aimed at aiding victims of the heavy rainfall and flooding that have recently occurred in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS). The campaign’s mainstage will feature a day of virtual lectures on the translation and interpreting industry on June 8, 2024. Participants can register for this event by donating directly to any of the NGOs on the initiative’s curated list. All NGOs listed are involved in efforts to provide refuge, relief, and resources to those affected by these extreme weather events.
Among the lecturers is the PLD’s own Paula Ianelli, Assistant Administrator of the Division.
Simultaneous interpreting will be available into English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
The Portuguese Language Division is proud to be an active supporter of this campaign and expresses its solidarity with the residents of Rio Grande do Sul as they recover from this tragic weather occurrence.
