The PLD is starting a Book Club dedicated to exploring the richness of literature from all Portuguese-speaking countries!
For our first gathering, we will discuss Terra Sonâmbula by Mia Couto, a magical realist novel set in post-civil war Mozambique that blends imagery and metaphors to contrast the beauty of the landscape with the horrors faced by survivors.
We would like to hold our first meeting in October – prior to the ATA Conference.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING, PLEASE FILL OUT THIS FORM BY TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH.
When: To be decided by the group
Where: Zoom
We will reach out to everyone who expresses interest in participating to determine a day and time for our discussion, which will be held via Zoom.
If you are not currently a PLD member and wish to become one, doing so is simple! Log in to the Members Only section of the ATA website and add the Portuguese Language Division in your membership settings.
All attendees should be adhere to the American Translators Association’s Code of Conduct for Virtual Programs.
