Alejandra Jorge<\/strong> is an English-Spanish translator from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is also a graduate teacher of English. Ms. Jorge holds a Licenciatura in Applied Linguistics and has also earned a post graduate certificate in Teaching English for Specific Purposes from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She served as a Tenured Lecturer of Technical and Scientific Translation and of Introduction to Interpreting for more than 25 years at Lenguas Vivas Institute, her alma mater, where her peers elected her as Head of the English-Spanish Translation Department for two consecutive terms.<\/p>
For more than 30 years, Alejandra has worked as a free-lance translator and interpreter specializing in Oil & Gas, Insurance, Marketing, and Education.<\/p>
She served as president of the Argentine Association of Translators and Interpreters (AATI), from 2010 to 2014. In 2017 was elected as a Council member of FIT (International Federation of Translators and Interpreters). In 2018 she was elected as Chair of FIT LatAm and in 2022 she was re-elected to FIT Council. She is a currently a member of FIT\u00b4s Research Task Force, the Education and Professional Development Standing Committee and is one of FIT Vice-Presidents.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, he has been employed in a series of progressively senior roles for several mining projects in Central and South America.
