Our next S&amp;TD virtual networking will be held in November, so stay tuned!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a busy time of the year for all of us, so we tried to make it a bit easier by creating a list of upcoming events and deadlines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>S&amp;TD Annual Meeting<\/strong> will be held virtually on Monday, October 3, from 6:30 pm &#8211; 7:30 pm ET. This meeting is open to all division members and more information will be distributed by ATA. We hope you will join us!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We are currently looking for members to serve on next year\u2019s <strong>Nominating Committee<\/strong> (NC). The NC will work to select candidates for the 2023 S&amp;TD election and will consist of at least two Division members, who must be voting members of the Association. Please contact Mery at <a href=\"mailto:divisionS_TD@atanet.orgF\">divisionS_TD@atanet.org<\/a> for more information or if you are interested in serving.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preparations for <strong>ATA\u2019s 63<sup>rd<\/sup> Annual Conference<\/strong> in LA (October 12-15, 2022) are in full swing:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Early registration<\/strong> for the conference ends on <strong>September 16<\/strong>. ATA members can save more than $100 over the standard registration fee, so register now at <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ata63.org\/registration\/\" target=\"_blank\">ata63.org\/registration<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Science &amp; Technology Division will hold a <strong>networking dinner at Pez Cantina<\/strong> on Friday, October 14. If you would like to attend, make sure to reserve a spot and submit payment in advance no later than October 10. Please see the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ata-divisions.org\/S_TD\/ata63-scitech-dinner\/\" target=\"_blank\">dinner page<\/a>&nbsp;on the S&amp;TD website for details. Space is limited to 40 guests, so don\u2019t wait too long. We hope to see you there!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Not sure which ATA63 sessions to attend?<\/strong> We have made a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ata-divisions.org\/S_TD\/2022\/08\/29\/ata63-annual-conference-science-and-technology-division-events-and-sessions\/\" target=\"_blank\">list of events and sessions<\/a> that are of special interest to S&amp;TD members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check out our <a href=\"https:\/\/ata-divisions.org\/S_TD\/2022\/09\/11\/interview-with-lauren-esposito-stds-distinguished-speaker\/\">interview with <strong>S&amp;TD Distinguished Speaker, Dr. Lauren Esposito<\/strong><\/a> to learn more about her fascinating work as arachnologist and curator of the California Academy of Sciences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We are inviting students or recent graduates to participate in a <strong>conference poster presentation<\/strong> during the Welcome Celebration on Wednesday, October 12, to present their research or ideas related to translation or interpreting. Please read <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ata-divisions.org\/S_TD\/2022\/08\/08\/poster-presentations\/\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew Schlecht\u2019s recent blog article<\/a> with more information about this new S&amp;TD initiative.
