What is the thread that brings together such disparate technologies as the snooze function on computers, Energy Star appliances, PV (Photovoltaic) panels, Nike Flyknit athletic shoes, EV (Electronic Vehicles), residential SMART thermostats such as NEST, agricultural robots, windmills, Carbon Trading, GURTs and TGURTs seed engineering, plus much more?
Most people will agree that each one of these technologies, and the patents that disclose them, are “green”. But what makes them green? What is a green technology? Why are these technologies called green, and most importantly are there any chromatic variations in the color green that qualifies all of these quite different technologies?
If you are interested in the answers to these questions, then let’s meet on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm, Studio 6, at the ATA59 Session precisely addressing these questions.
Green technology is a huge and very diverse segment of the translation industry. Even the UN is “Greening its blue!” This session will provide clear orientation for navigating the full scope of the domain, enabling you to embrace it all.
A selection of bright (chlorophyll) green patented technologies will be presented with a discussion of why each on them is such a vibrant example of green technology. A couple examples of more murky green technologies will also be presented, together with the leading critical perspectives.
