How did you become a translator/interpreter?
I started translating when I started studying Spanish in middle school. I was so curious about the process and enjoyed the research and problem solving components of translating. My interest continued as a hobby through undergraduate school, translating from Spanish into English and adding translation from German into English as well. I did not pursue translation professionally until graduate school; I completed a PhD in Translation Studies at Binghamton University and then started a commercial business as a freelance professional translator and editor.
What are your areas of specialization?

What do you like about ATA?
I enjoy the community, support, and wealth of knowledge and experience that is shared in a supportive environment.
